Visit the Hawaii Weather Webpage. It's an amazing site! It's like the Google of weather pages. It is so complete and simple I can't even begin to tell you how in awe I was looking at the different radars and diagrams because they were all ANIMATED to live time! You will only see it if you scroll towards the bottom so don't be fooled and stop at the first sight! SCROLL down please! You will be greatly rewarded.

As for the hotel review: as soon as I get back from the trip I will write one so that you could all see how many stars this hotel deserves.

the person who greeted me was extremely nice and joyous to work with when we came to check in. I think she was also the manager. we got 2 bottles of water immediately and questions like "how was your flight" as soon as she took our papers... so it was great to see such friendly and caring service... then only at that time did she talk about having the bellboy (who was standing right next to her waiting already) take our luggage to our room... which i think is good to note because i don't like it when other hotels have their bellboys running loose and trying to help everyone right at the instant they come in without considering whether the customers want to be helped or not... usually i like to be given the options of declining their help or not...
okay so next into the elevator... it smells!... the reason partly is because there's no A/C in it... it was stuffy, musty, and humid... they didn't renovate yet or something... it looks torn apart... and then next to our floor.... it seems that there is no A/C in the hallways, or at least not on my floor (8th)... and this is really concerning because Hawaii weather is humid and so a lot of smells can mix up and get the hallway all gross... and then into our room... we got the one king bed w/ kitchenette/balcony not facing beach... right at the door there is no light so when i wanted to look into the closet i had to turn on the bathroom light which was right opposite of the closet... the bedroom was relatively fine... except no trash can anywhere... there is one under the kitchen sink and the other in the bathroom... and the surfaces of tables/dressers seemed dusty... the lamp closest to the balcony didn't work... and since the bed headrest is disconnected from the rest of the bed, you can see down to the edge where the wall meets the floor behind the bed, and find unsightly dustballs... the bathroom is where there was a problem... the sink and the faucet doesn't fit quite right so that the faucet spout over reaches and takes up the space over the sink basin, which causes you to spill water over the counter everytime you wash your hands and faces... imagine it like this... the faucet spout is very near to the edge of the sink... so it's hard to wash your faces and hands without making a mess... luckily, the faucet is rotatable so that you would have to remember to rotate the faucet elsewhere when you do things in the basin... and then the cabinet under the sink is not enclosed so that you can see the unsightly water pipes right under the sink... as for the bathroom lights, they weren't enclosed either and seemed bare and unfinished over the sink... which is blinding everytime you stare up... as for the kitchenette, it was surprisingly very useful and well equipped... except I would suggest providing a blender... i think that would've made us extremely happy as we are margarita lovers... but they DID make us happy already when they provided the Korbel champagne and a box of chocolate covered macadamia nuts for our honeymoon status... the balcony was excellent because they provided wooden chairs and a table... we had bought fresh seafood from Chinatown back and cooked it and ate it out there... and breafast was complimentary... it lasts till 9:30... the woman hosting was extremely nice and was pouring tea and coffee for you... you can choose to eat your breakfast inside the lobby or outside by the pool... they have orange juice, guava nectar juice, buns, cheese buns (these are yum), muffins, cinnamon rolls, piggies in a blanket, bananas, oranges, red apples, STASH hi-quality tea, and some other baked goods that they would rotate daily... the desktops in the lobby costs 5 dollars minimum to use for web/printing... which i think is costly... otherwise it's a few quarters for a few minutes (i can't remember)... the salt-water pool is extremely small, and the jacuzzi is even smaller... right next to some nice palms and a rocky waterfall... the bellboys greet you most of the time when you come in and out but they aren't pushy about doing things for me (like opening the door) so i don't feel pressured to tip them... but they will open the door if they see you carrying tons of stuff, which is great... the parking is $25 a night so it's a disadvantage for your rental car in the case that it gets broken in sitting on the curbside... otherwise, you can skip the parking fee by parking on the curbside right on the left side of the hotel when facing the hotel... we parked there for free after 6pm and had to remember to feed the meter once we wake up at 8am...
on the last day... when we checked out we got this nonchalant lady who could care less about us checking out... so i was a little disappointed, because the night before when we came back to sleep late at night, the nice guy at the desk called us right away when we got up into our room to ask if we needed anything, transportation wise or etc, since he knows that we are leaving the following day... and then we left the hotel saying that it was affordable and nice so we would probably try it again the next time we're in waikiki... our rate was $90/night from their own website with discount (100$ without)... so you should probably not worry about booking elsewhere to get the best rate... unless of course you're booking a package from some travel site... overall, i hope you guys don't mind the smell and stuffiness in the hallway, otherwise you should check this place out :0)
